I hate ants

I hate ants.

No...not Aunt Sue.  Or Aunt Mary.  Or Aunt Buckwheat or Aunt Chip.  Six-legged, 3-body-segmented, antennae waving, ants.  I hate ants.

It's not even that I hate ants, really.  I don't hate spiders or snakes or box elder beetles, either.  Live and let live, I always usually say.  It's just that...they don't belong in my house.  It's my house, ants (and spiders and snakes and beetles).  Go get your own.  And don't be giving me that garbage about you were here first, we're ruining your habitat, blah, blah, blah.  You were not here first.  Your lifespan is about 6 months.  My house has been here for years.

The ants!  I don't know where they're coming from.  I spray and I spray, and they still, somehow, make it through to crawl on my floor, on my cabinets.  Woe to the ant who strays onto the counter-top.

Last night I declared war (again) on the little buggers (buggers!  I made a punny).  Two hours I cleaned and I sprayed and I squished and I vacuumed.

They have yet to return.

But it's still early.

Those ants.  I hate them.  I feel powerless to stop them.

Those ants are like negative thoughts.  You know, the ones the chatterbox keeps spewing day after day.  They're so small, you might not even notice one or two or even ten.  And then suddenly they're everywhere.  Running rampant.  And you have to squash each and every one.

It's hard work, running after those ants, those negative thoughts.  Raid is my secret weapon in the battle of the ants.

And in the battle against the negative thoughts?  God's truth.  Go get you some.

The weapons of the war we’re fighting are not of this world
but are powered by God and
effective at tearing down the strongholds erected against His truth.
We are demolishing arguments and ideas,
every high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against
the knowledge of the one true God.
We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion,
and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One.
--2 Corinthians 10:4-5

  1. I hate ants (in the house) too. Sprayed for them today. Usually doesn't do much good, but we'll see.
