I know a woman who has never met a stranger. She is so friendly and open and can talk to an.y.body. I want to be more like her.
I know a woman who can do anything, and do it beautifully. Cooking, sewing, decorating, gift-giving, mudding and taping drywall...she is good at everything. I want to be more like her.
I know a woman who is incredibly generous with her time, talents, friendship, and resources. I want to be more like her.
I know a woman who is gorgeous and so witty--she's the life of every party. I want to be more like her.
I know a woman who is great at setting goals and following through with them. She can accomplish anything. I want to be more like her.
I know a woman who just oozes Christ-like-ness. You know that song that goes, "they will know we are Christians by our love..."? That's her. I want to be more like her.
Do you recognize yourself, sisters? Because these women are you. I want to be more like you.
Several weeks ago, one of my Facebook friends posted this status update:
"Girls: There's always going to be that girl you think is much prettier, funnier, sweeter and just generally more perfect... but have you ever realized that you're probably that girl to someone else?"
You are that girl to me! Though I don't ever think anyone would put Christ-like-ness in the same sentence as me, I can only hope to be more like the someone I want to be.
ReplyDeleteYou are the person who lives for their family selflessly. I know tomorrow I will wake up and throw the covers over my head and tell everyone to go away because I am sick, and tomorrow you will make mouse-face pancakes with chocolate chip eyes and yogurt ears and then make some crafts out of pinecones and glitter. At some point tomorrow I will complain about hand prints on the aquarium and drink a beer on the couch with my snuggie on, but tomorrow you will make crafts out of hand cut-outs with your kids. You rock!
ReplyDeleteThe grass is always greener on the other side....How I do wish I had more patience, and "wanted" the kids to paint in the house and had time to do crafts with the kids more often ( and not just on rainy days)...it is the women "like you" who also inspire ME! Let's keep on "inspiring" one another :)
